Goal: $44,000.00
Specific Need
Thank you to all the donors last year who helped us raise around $30,000. With your help over the last two years with the Match Day funds we were able to complete Phase I of our playground reconstruction. Phase I consisted of ground work and all new rubber mulch installed. Phase II was also able to be completed which consisted of all new playground equipment and installation. As you know, both of these projects were very costly for a nonprofit organization. Therefore we were able to finance phase II. This year and future years fundraising efforts will be used to finance phase II.
Your continued support is very much appreciated. Our operating costs are rising quite rapidly as the cost of fuel and the rate of inflation are affecting nearly all services -- we are no different. In order to keep up with those rising costs we rely heavily on community support. Thank you for being an amazing community to operate in!
Mission
Little Hands, Inc. is committed to providing a safe and enriched environment for young children to learn and develop their school readiness skills.
Profile
We are a 501c3 non-profit daycare facility in Brown County, Kansas licensed to provide care for up to 73 children, aged 2 weeks through age 12 years. Little Hands, Inc. is the only full-fledged childcare facility located in Hiawatha. Our facility allows us to provide 6 age-based rooms for more individualized care than what is often received at in-home daycares. In-home daycares in our area are limited and not able to support the capacity of children that we are able to serve. Without our facility, our local economy would suffer, with many parents or guardians unable to obtain the care necessary that allows them to maintain employment.
We strive to keep the children in our care excited and engaged during their learning journey. In order to do so, we use a combination of contemporary learning techniques, devices, play equipment, and interactive toys - all which contribute to their early education journey. The early education we provide to the children enrolled at our center assists in the development of well-educated children, who are the future of our local communities.
